As we are fasting in this special month of Alá and as I read the wonderful cleansing prayers that Bahá’u'lláh has given us for fasting, I contemplate on how to raise our children to be dedicated to their Faith and to be of service to humanity!
I reflect back on my childhood and while I cannot remember all the advice that my mother gave me, I do remember how she served and how my parents practiced truthfulness. I remember how they cared for those who were in need and tried to help as much as they could. They never told me that I should fast but they exemplified it in their actions.

| How do I want my daughter to remember me? More importantly how do I want my daughter to be as a grown up? Márisá and I have many discussions on different subjects in regards to spirituality, history, and life in general. Will she remember those when she gets older or she will just remember what I did!?
